Festékgyártásban, commonly referred to as paint manufacturing, is the industrial process of producing paints and coatings. This process involves the precise mixing of various raw materials, including pigments, binders, solvents, and additives, to create a product with specific properties such as color, durability, and application characteristics.

Pigments provide the color and opacity of the paint. They can be organic or inorganic compounds. Binders are the film-forming component that holds the pigment particles together and adheres the paint to the surface. Common binders include acrylics, alkyds, epoxies, and polyurethanes. Solvents, which can be water or organic liquids, are used to dissolve or disperse the binder and pigments, controlling the viscosity and application properties of the paint. Additives are incorporated in smaller quantities to impart specific qualities, such as improved flow, faster drying, enhanced UV resistance, or mildew prevention.

The manufacturing process typically begins with the grinding or dispersion of pigments into the binder and solvent. This is often done in specialized equipment like ball mills or high-speed dispersers to ensure uniform particle size and distribution. Following dispersion, the remaining ingredients are added and mixed thoroughly. Quality control is a critical stage, involving testing for color consistency, viscosity, drying time, and other performance metrics. Finally, the finished paint is packaged for distribution. Different types of paints, such as architectural, industrial, automotive, and marine coatings, require specialized formulations and manufacturing techniques to meet their intended applications and performance demands.
