These pieces are typically used as connectors or jumpers in electrical circuits, particularly where flexibility is not required or is undesirable. Unlike stranded wire, which is composed of multiple thin strands, Festdrahtstücke are made from a single, solid core of conductive material, often copper or a copper alloy.
