Roger Federer is a Swiss former professional tennis player who is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. Born August 8, 1981, in Basel, he turned professional in 1998 and developed a versatile all‑court game marked by precise shotmaking, exceptional footwork, and a one‑handed backhand.

Federer won 20 Grand Slam singles titles: eight at Wimbledon (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012, 2017), six at the Australian Open (2004, 2006, 2007, 2010, 2017, 2018), five at the US Open (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008), and one at the French Open (2009). He held the world No. 1 ranking for a total of 310 weeks, including a record 237 consecutive weeks, and won 103 ATP singles titles overall.

Federer represented Switzerland in multiple Olympic Games, with his best result in singles at London 2012, where he won a silver medal. He remained a consistent presence at the top level for more than two decades, contributing to the popularity and globalization of tennis.
