Fastadapting is a qualitative descriptor used to identify systems, organisms, or models that can rapidly adjust to changing conditions or inputs. The term emphasizes speed of adjustment and is applied across disciplines to contrast with slower or more gradual forms of adaptation. In scientific and engineering literature, fast adaptation can refer to physiological, neural, or behavioral changes that occur quickly, as well as to computational or robotic methods that update in real time.

In biology and neuroscience, fast adaptation often describes rapid physiological responses or learning processes, such as swift neural plasticity, short-term acclimation to environmental changes, or quickly modulated sensory processing.
