Farvoissa

Farvoissa is a town and commune in the fictional nation of Valoria, situated on the lower Solis River near the Luminet mountain range. It has a population of about 11,800 and covers 112 square kilometers. The town comprises districts including Old Quarter, Riverside, and Valley Park.

Geographically, Farvoissa sits in a temperate region with four seasons and about 800 millimeters of rainfall per year. The Solis River and its floodplains support local orchards and small vineyards.

Farvoissa was founded in the 14th century by settlers from the Valoran plains and developed as a river trade hub. The town experienced industrial growth in the 19th century, particularly in textiles, and underwent reconstruction after the mid-20th century. Heritage sites remain in the Old Quarter.

The economy is diversified, combining agriculture, textiles, light manufacturing, and public services. The town is connected by a regional railway to the city of Velora and by a network of buses; there is no airport in Farvoissa, with the nearest facility located in Velora. A hydroelectric plant on River Vale provides renewable energy.

Cultural life centers on the annual Festival of the Solis Lights, local theater, and the Farvoissa Monastery. Public institutions include a library, a community center, and a vocational college. Primary and secondary education is provided locally, with opportunities for apprenticeships in nearby industries.

Farvoissa is governed by a mayor-council system; the municipal council is elected by residents and administers local services within the wider Valoria framework. Nearby protected areas, including the Valdis Forest, are a focus of conservation and tourism efforts, balancing development with biodiversity preservation.

Notable landmarks include the Old Bridge, which dates to the early modern era; the Farvoissa Monastery; and the Miren Lake Lookout, a vantage point overlooking the floodplain.
