Farbleck
Farbleck is a small municipality in the district of Gifhorn, Lower Saxony, Germany. With a population of approximately 1,200 residents as of the 2020 census, the community is situated about 30 kilometres southeast of Wolfsburg in a gently undulating landscape that features mixed agricultural land and patches of forest. The village is first mentioned in written sources dating to 1185, where it appears in a charter issued by the Bishopric of Hildesheim. Over the following centuries, Farbleck remained a modest agrarian settlement, largely self‑sufficient and governed locally by elected village elders until administrative reforms in the 19th century integrated it into the greater Gifhorn district.
The local economy today is largely based on small-scale farming, especially the cultivation of barley and beetroot,
Farbleck’s narrow streets and traditional half‑timber houses provide a picturesque example of rural Lower Saxon architecture,
