Farbbestandteile

Farbbestandteile describes the constituent elements that compose a color within a given color model. Depending on the model, they may represent light intensities in channels or the intrinsic pigments used to create the color. In additive color systems such as RGB, colors are produced by combining red, green, and blue light. The Farbbestandteile are the intensities of these three channels; mixing different amounts yields the perceived color. In digital images, values are typically stored as triplets (R, G, B). When all three channels are at their maximum, white results; when all are zero, black.

In subtractive color systems used in printing and painting, colors arise from pigments that absorb certain wavelengths. The primary components are cyan, magenta, and yellow (and sometimes black). The Farbbestandteile correspond to the concentration of these pigments; mixing them tends to produce darker colors. White surfaces reflect all light; mixing pigments reduces reflectance.

Other color models, such as HSV (Hue, Saturation, Value) or HSL (Hue, Saturation, Lightness), describe color attributes rather than physical pigments. Their components express perceptual properties: hue corresponds to the color type, saturation to intensity, and value or lightness to brightness. These models are common in design and image editing, but their components do not directly map to pigment or light intensities without a transformation.

Color reproduction also involves color management: device color spaces (for example sRGB, Adobe RGB) define standard Farbbestandteile for a given space. Accurate reproduction requires calibrated devices and profile conversions to minimize color differences across devices.
