Falz

Falz the Bahd Guy, born Folarin Falana on 27 October 1990, is a Nigerian singer, rapper, actor and songwriter. He performs under the stage name Falz and is known for blending hip hop, Afrobeats and Nigerian street music with witty, satirical lyrics that often address social and political issues. He has been described as one of Nigeria’s most influential voices in contemporary pop and a leading figure in alternative Nigerian music.

Born in Lagos, Falana studied Law at a Nigerian university and later pursued music full time. He founded Bahd Guys Entertainment, a record label and production outfit, through which he releases music and collaborates with other artists.

Falz rose to prominence in the mid-2010s through singles and projects that combine humor with social commentary. One of his best-known works is the satirical video “This Is Nigeria.” His studio albums include Stories That Touch (2015) and Moral Instruction (2019), the latter noted for its direct engagement with civic issues and governance. His work often uses Nigerian pidgin and witty wordplay to critique corruption, social inequality and cultural norms, while remaining accessible to a broad audience.

In addition to music, Falz has an acting career, appearing in Nigerian films and television series. He is widely recognized for his philanthropy and public engagement on social issues, including youth empowerment and civic participation, and has received multiple nominations and awards in music and film.
