Fimean is a fictional ethnolinguistic group created for worldbuilding and speculative fiction. In most depictions, Fimeans inhabit the highland plateau of Fimea, a landlocked region in the central continent of Aldara. The term also refers to the Fimean language or language family spoken by the people.

The Fimean language is described as agglutinative with a subject–object–verb default word order. It features rich evidential and aspect marking, including direct, inferential, and reportive evidentials. Phonology is characterized by a moderate inventory of consonants and vowels with vowel harmony in some dialects. The writing system is often depicted as a syllabary derived from an earlier logographic tradition.

Fimean society is typically portrayed as organized around matrilineal clans and a council of elders. Economy emphasizes terrace farming, pastoralism, and craft industries such as pottery, weaving, and metalwork. Religion commonly centers on ancestor veneration and nature spirits, with seasonal festivals that mark agricultural cycles.

Within fiction, the Fimeans are said to have formed as a unified culture after migrating into the Fimean highlands during the late medieval period, developed urban centers, and later encountered neighboring polities through trade and conflict. Historical timelines vary by author, reflecting the group’s status as a constructed element rather than a canonical real-world culture.

Because Fimean is a constructed term, it appears across novels, games, and linguistic exercises as a case study in conlanging and ethnographic worldbuilding. It serves to illustrate typological variation in language structure and social organization, rather than to describe a real population.
