Eyeshape

Eyeshape refers to the distinct form and contour of the eye and its surrounding features. This can include the shape of the eyelid, the visible iris, the depth of the eye socket, and the angle of the outer and inner corners. Variations in eyeshape are natural and contribute to the unique appearance of an individual's face.

Common descriptions of eyeshape include almond, round, downturned, upturned, hooded, monolid, and close-set or wide-set. Almond-shaped eyes are typically wider than they are tall, with the outer corners slightly higher than the inner corners. Round eyes are almost as tall as they are wide, with the iris often appearing to touch the upper and lower eyelids. Downturned eyes have outer corners that droop lower than the inner corners, while upturned eyes exhibit the opposite, with outer corners higher than the inner. Hooded eyes have a fold of skin that hangs over the crease of the eyelid, potentially obscuring it. Monolid eyes have a less defined eyelid crease, giving the appearance of a single lid. The spacing of the eyes is also a factor, with close-set eyes appearing nearer to each other and wide-set eyes appearing further apart.
