Etujännitteessä
Etujännitteessä is a Finnish term that translates to "in forward bias" in English, commonly used in electronics. It describes the state of a semiconductor junction, such as a diode or a transistor, when a voltage is applied across it in a way that allows current to flow easily. Specifically, for a p-n junction, forward bias occurs when the positive terminal of a voltage source is connected to the p-type material and the negative terminal is connected to the n-type material. This applied voltage opposes the internal potential barrier of the junction, reducing it and enabling majority charge carriers to cross the junction.
In a diode, forward bias is the condition under which it conducts current. When the forward voltage
For bipolar junction transistors (BJTs), the concept of forward bias is crucial for their operation. The base-emitter
