Etherow
Etherow is a river in the north of England, closely associated with the Greater Manchester area and the surrounding Derbyshire region. The name Etherow is used locally to refer to both the river and the Etherow Valley, an area shaped by industrial development and later conservation efforts. The river rises in upland terrain and flows generally westward, gathering smaller streams along its course before joining a larger watercourse that drains toward the Manchester area.

Today, the most prominent feature along the river is Etherow Country Park, a recreational and conservation
Etymology for the name Etherow is not definitively established, but scholars suggest Old English or Norse influences
