Esikarsita

Esikarsita is a fictional mineral created for educational and speculative uses in geology and mineralogy texts. It is not recognized by the International Mineralogical Association or major mineral databases. The name is said to derive from the fictional Esikar region, with the suffix -ita a conventional mineral-ending.

In typical fictional treatments, esikarsita is described as a silicate mineral with a monoclinic or orthorhombic crystal system, transparent to translucent green crystals, and a vitreous to pearly luster. Reported hardness ranges from 5 to 6 on the Mohs scale, and densities around 2.9 to 3.3 g/cm3. Crystal habit is commonly prismatic or blade-like; cleavage is imperfect in one direction. Because no fixed chemical formula exists in reliable sources, esikarsita is treated as a variable silicate with trace elements that may include aluminum, magnesium, and iron in different fictional scenarios.
