Erbian
Erbian is a traditional Chinese folk music instrument belonging to the bowed string family. It is a two-stringed fiddle, typically played with a bow made of horsehair. The instrument has a small, hollow wooden body, often hexagonal or octagonal in shape, and a long, slender neck. The two strings are usually made of silk or metal and are tuned in fifths. Erbian produces a high-pitched, penetrating sound, often described as nasal or reedy.
The erbian is a versatile instrument, capable of expressing a wide range of emotions and musical styles.
