Encauzamiento

Encauzamiento refers to a process of guiding or directing the flow of a liquid, gas, or other fluid within a confined space, such as a pipe, channel, or conduit. The term is commonly used in engineering and construction contexts, particularly in civil and environmental engineering, to describe techniques that ensure efficient and controlled movement of fluids to prevent issues like erosion, blockages, or uneven distribution.

In hydraulic engineering, encauzamiento involves modifying natural or artificial channels to improve their capacity, stability, and functionality. This may include straightening meandering rivers, reinforcing banks with concrete or vegetation, or installing structures like weirs or spillways to manage water levels. The goal is often to mitigate flooding risks, enhance water flow for irrigation or power generation, or protect infrastructure from damage.

The process may also incorporate environmental considerations, such as restoring natural habitats or implementing erosion control measures to preserve ecosystems.
