Elpárolgását is a Hungarian term that translates to "evaporation" in English. It refers to the physical process by which a substance in a liquid state changes to a gaseous state due to an increase in temperature and/or pressure. This transition occurs when the molecules within the liquid gain enough kinetic energy to overcome the intermolecular forces holding them together.

The rate of evaporation is influenced by several factors, including temperature, surface area, air movement, and humidity. Higher temperatures generally lead to faster evaporation as molecules have more energy. A larger surface area exposed to the air also accelerates the process, as more molecules are in a position to escape into the gaseous phase. Wind or air currents can carry away the evaporated molecules, preventing them from returning to the liquid state and thus promoting further evaporation. Conversely, high humidity in the air reduces the rate of evaporation because the air is already saturated with vapor.
