Elosztó

Elosztó is a Hungarian term referring to a device or system that distributes a single input to multiple outputs. It is used across several fields, most commonly in electrical engineering, telecommunications, and audio/video applications, where it serves to spread power, signals, or data to several destinations.

In electrical engineering, an elosztó often denotes a power-distribution device. A distribution board or panel (elosztó tábla) houses protective devices and circuitry to feed multiple circuits from a main supply. Household contexts use power strips or multi-outlet adapters described as elosztók, which provide several outlets from one wall socket, typically including surge protection or other safety features.

In signal and data networks, elosztó is used for devices that split or distribute a signal to several outputs. Examples include antenna splitters for RF or terrestrial television, HDMI splitters for video, and network or audio/video distribution hubs. These devices specify performance characteristics such as impedance, attenuation, and isolation to preserve signal integrity across branches.
