Elastohardening

Elastohardening, also known as elastic strain hardening, is a phenomenon observed in certain materials, particularly metals, where the material exhibits an increase in yield strength during the initial stages of plastic deformation. This effect is primarily due to the rearrangement of dislocations within the material's crystal structure. As the material is subjected to stress, dislocations move and interact, forming obstacles that hinder further movement.
