Eitersekretion
Eitersekretion, also known as pus, is a common sign of infection in the body. It is a thick, whitish-yellow fluid that forms at the site of inflammation or injury. Pus is composed of dead white blood cells, bacteria, and tissue debris. When the body detects an infection, it sends white blood cells to fight off the invading microorganisms. These white blood cells engulf and destroy the bacteria, but in the process, they also die. The accumulation of dead white blood cells, along with the bacteria they have fought, forms pus.
The presence of pus typically indicates that the immune system is actively combating an infection. It can
