Eirahaan is a fictional traditional ritual described in worldbuilding literature and in the narrative universe of the Eiran Basin. The term denotes a communal rite that blends oral storytelling, choral singing, and symbolic weaving to pass down histories, genealogies, and seasonal knowledge from elders to younger generations.

Etymology and usage: In the fictional Eiran language family, eir means memory or tale, while haan denotes gathering or togetherness. Variants such as irhaan appear in regional dialects.

Ritual practice: Eirahaan typically unfolds during the first week of the dry season. An appointed elder storyteller, the pithra, opens with a prologue, then recounts sequences of migrations, treaties, and moral lessons. Interludes of choral singing accompany narrative segments. In parallel, artisans perform weaving on a central loom or in circles, with thread colors representing kinship lines, rights of passage, and reciprocal obligations. The ceremony culminates in a communal meal and a blessing that symbolically transfers collective memory to the coming generation.

Cultural role and history: Scholars describe eirahaan as a social contract that reinforces trust, reciprocity, and communal identity in the Eiran communities. The earliest accounts appear in legendary chronicles and later imperial annals. In modern contexts, the rite is sometimes adapted for diaspora communities or urban cultural festivals, often with abridged formats or hybrid performances.
