Eestmundroles refers to a lesser-known but historically significant dialect or regional speech variety spoken in parts of the coastal region of Estonia, particularly around the town of Haapsalu in Lääne County. The term is a blend of "Eesti" (Estonian) and "mundroles," which loosely translates to "mixed speech" or "local tongue," reflecting its unique linguistic characteristics that differ from standard Estonian.

The origins of eestmundroles are not well-documented, but it likely emerged as a result of centuries of interaction between Estonian farmers, fishermen, and traders with neighboring Baltic German, Swedish, and Finnish communities. Over time, this contact led to the incorporation of loanwords, phonetic shifts, and syntactic influences from these languages, creating a distinct regional flavor. Speakers of eestmundroles often used it in informal settings, such as among family, friends, or within local communities, while reserving standard Estonian for formal or broader communication.

Phonetically, eestmundroles exhibits some notable traits, including softened consonants, altered vowel sounds, and occasional reductions in syllable clarity compared to standard Estonian.
