ESVEDV

ESVEDV is an international professional association dedicated to advancing endovascular diagnostics and vascular therapies in veterinary medicine. The organization aims to standardize procedures, support research, and provide education for veterinary clinicians, with a focus on improving patient safety and outcomes.

The society was established in the early 2010s by a group of veterinary surgeons, interventional radiologists, and researchers who sought to promote collaboration across institutions and disciplines. Over time, ESVEDV expanded its membership beyond its founding region to include practitioners and researchers from multiple continents. In 2015, it adopted a formal governance structure, including a board and several standing committees.

Membership comprises veterinarians specializing in interventional radiology, vascular surgery, diagnostic imaging, and related fields, as well as residents, scientists, and allied professionals. The governance body includes a president, secretary, treasurer, and a council that oversees committees on education, guidelines, research, ethics, and communications. Members participate in committees, educational programs, and the society’s annual activities.

Key activities include an annual congress, regional symposia, and online educational webinars. The society develops consensus guidelines for endovascular procedures in companion animals and horses, supports multicenter research projects, and maintains an online resource center with case studies, best practices, and training materials. It also offers certificate programs and continuing education opportunities for clinicians.

ESVEDV disseminates findings through conference proceedings, educational modules, and open-access research platforms via affiliated journals and its own publications. Its work contributes to standardized training, clinical accreditation pathways, and broader collaboration within veterinary endovascular medicine.
