E655
The E655 is a model designation used by BMW for their fifth-generation executive sedan, produced from 2001 to 2010. This generation replaced the E39 and was succeeded by the F10. The E655 chassis code specifically refers to the long-wheelbase version of the 7 Series, while the standard wheelbase models were designated E66. Key design elements of the E655 included a distinctive "flame surfacing" aesthetic, a departure from BMW's previous styling, and the introduction of the iDrive infotainment system.
The E655 was available with a range of gasoline and diesel engines, including V8 and V12 configurations.
