Dunvale

Dunvale is a town and civil parish in Eldoria, a fictional country. It lies near the eastern shore of Lake Lorne, about 40 kilometers north of the capital Veridium. The town covers a compact basin framed by the Riverside Hills and the lake to the east, and serves as a local service center for surrounding villages. The population is approximately 7,000 residents.

Historically, Dunvale developed as a medieval market village and grew through milling and quarrying. The arrival of the railway in the late 19th century connected it to larger markets, and the historic core preserves stonework and a parish church dating from the 14th century.

Geography and climate: The area experiences a temperate maritime climate with mild winters and cool summers; rainfall is frequent but evenly distributed. The River Dun flows through the town, feeding the lakes and supporting green spaces.

Economy and infrastructure: The local economy combines agriculture, small-scale manufacturing, and services. Dairy farming and orchards are common on the surrounding lands, while wood products and textiles provide light manufacturing employment. Dunvale is served by Dunvale railway station on the Northshore Line and by a regional road network connecting to Veridium and other towns.

Culture and landmarks: Notable features include the ruins of Dunvale Abbey beside the river and the Old Mill Bridge. The Riverfront hosts the annual Dunvale Water Festival and a small arts centre.
