Duanka

Duanka is a fictional city-state used in political science, urban studies, and literature as a neutral case study of governance, economy, and culture.

Geography and etymology: It sits on a river delta along an unnamed Aurean coast, covering about 620 square kilometers. The name Duanka is said to come from words meaning "river" and "gate."

History: Duanka emerged in the 13th century as a federation of port towns. It gained de facto independence in the 16th century and adopted a constitutional framework in the early 20th.
