Druktest

Druktest, often translated as pressure test, is a test method used to verify the structural integrity and leak-tightness of vessels, piping, or systems by subjecting them to a controlled increase in pressure. The test helps ensure safety and compliance with standards before commissioning or after repairs.

There are two main types: hydrostatic (water-based) and pneumatic (gas-based). In hydrostatic tests, the system is filled with clean water, purged of air, sealed, and pressurized to a specified test pressure, commonly a factor of the design or operating pressure. The pressure is maintained for a defined period while leaks, deformations, or mass loss are checked. In pneumatic tests, air or another gas is used, often for smaller components or where water ingress is undesirable. Pneumatic tests require careful control due to the risk of rapid energy release and potential hazards.

Test procedures follow national or international standards, with acceptance criteria typically requiring no significant leaks, no irrecoverable permanent deformation, and stable pressure within specified limits. After the test, the system is depressurized and inspected. In case of failure, components are repaired and retested. Documentation includes test pressure, duration, observed leaks, and final verdict.
