Druckbett

A Druckbett is a type of printing bed used in 3D printing, particularly in Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology. It is a flat surface on which the 3D printer's extruder lays down layers of molten plastic to create a three-dimensional object.

The Druckbett is typically made of a smooth surface material such as glass, aluminum, or a specialized polymer. It is designed to ensure even adhesion of the printed object, minimizing warping and curling during the printing process. The surface may be treated with a special coating or powder to improve adhesion and reduce the likelihood of scratches or damage to the object.

Some 3D printers use a Druckbett with a removable layer of adhesive tape or a photo-cured resin. In this case, the tape or resin is applied to the surface before printing and is removed after the printing process is complete. This allows for easy removal of the printed object and facilitates the production of complex geometries.

Druckbetten can be found in various sizes to accommodate different printer models and object sizes. They may be sold separately or as part of a 3D printer package, depending on the manufacturer. While there are alternative printing beds available, Druckbetten remain a popular choice among FDM 3D printer users due to their reliability and affordability.

Some users may also use self-crafted Druckbetten, made from specialized materials, which offer improved print quality and a shorter warping rate.
