Drahtschneider is a hand tool designed for cutting wire and similar flexible metal stock. The tool consists of two hardened cutting jaws mounted on a pivot between two handles. When the handles are squeezed, the cutting edges shear the wire. Many versions include a return spring to open the jaws automatically and a grip coating for comfort. Some models are insulated for electrical work and rated for a certain voltage.
