Dotterunterschied
Dotterunterschied is a neologism formed from Dotter (yolk) and Unterschied (difference). It is used mainly in food science and poultry science to describe the variation in yolk characteristics between eggs. The term is not part of standard dictionaries and has no universally accepted definition; in practice it denotes differences in attributes such as color, pigment content, and chemical composition of the yolk across samples from a flock, breed, or diet.
