Disperiodmetal is a niche and experimental subgenre of extreme metal music. It is characterized by its incorporation of irregular song structures, often lacking traditional verse-chorus patterns and predictable progressions. Instead, disperiodmetal tracks tend to feature abrupt shifts in tempo, rhythm, and mood. These changes can be jarring and disorienting, designed to create a sense of unease or chaos in the listener.

The instrumentation in disperiodmetal often draws from black metal and death metal, utilizing distorted guitars, blast beats, and guttural vocals.
