DipTube

DipTube refers to a class of tubular components used to draw liquid from within a container for dispensing, transfer, or sampling. The tubes are designed to extend from a fitting at the container’s top or side into the liquid, often reaching near the bottom, so that withdrawal continues as the liquid level falls. They are employed across consumer appliances, industrial equipment, and aquarium or plumbing installations.

Materials and construction: Common options include food-grade plastics such as PVC or polyethylene, silicone, and stainless steel. Inner diameters typically range from 1 to 6 millimeters, with lengths from a few centimeters to several tens of centimeters. Function and usage: Dip tubes connect to a pump, valve, or reservoir outlet. They withdraw liquid as pressure or gravity moves the liquid toward the outlet. In food and beverage contexts, materials and finishes must be sanitary and non-reactive. Anti-siphon or check-valve features may be included to prevent backflow and contamination.

Applications: In beverage machines and coffee makers, dip tubes draw water from the reservoir. In toilet fill valves, they draw water from the tank for refilling. In aquarium and hydroponic systems, they deliver nutrient solutions or water. Industrial systems use longer, reinforced versions for chemical transfer.
