DigCompviitekehystä
DigCompviitekehys, also known as the Digital Competence Framework for Citizens, is a European framework designed to describe and categorize the digital skills necessary for individuals to participate fully in society and the economy. It was developed by the European Commission's Joint Research Centre. The framework is structured into five main competence areas: Information and data literacy, Communication and collaboration, Digital content creation, Safety, and Problem solving. Each of these areas is further broken down into specific skills and proficiency levels, ranging from Foundation to Expert. The goal of DigCompviitekehys is to provide a common language and understanding of digital competence across Europe, supporting education, training, and policy initiatives aimed at enhancing digital skills for all citizens. It serves as a valuable tool for self-assessment, curriculum development, and the design of learning pathways. The framework is regularly updated to reflect the evolving digital landscape and emerging technologies. Its application extends to various sectors, including lifelong learning, employment, and active citizenship, aiming to empower individuals in an increasingly digital world.
