Dexy is a British band formed in Birmingham in 1981, initially known as Dexys Midnight Runners. The band is best known for their 1982 hit song "Come On Eileen," which topped the charts in the UK and the US. The core of the band has always been Kevin Rowland, the lead singer and songwriter. Their music is characterized by a blend of soul, folk, Celtic, and Celtic soul influences, often featuring a prominent saxophone and fiddle.
