Demosaikoinnin, also known as demosaicing or debayering, refers to the digital process of reconstructing a full-color image from the raw data captured by an image sensor in digital cameras and other imaging devices. Most digital image sensors, such as CMOS and CCD sensors, do not record full color information at each pixel. Instead, they use a color filter array—commonly a Bayer filter—that assigns specific color filters (red, green, or blue) to each pixel in a mosaic pattern.
