Dawoodi refers to the Dawoodi Bohra, a community within the Ismaili branch of Shia Islam that follows the Tayyibi tradition. They recognize a Da’i al-Mutlaq as their spiritual leader, a hereditary line believed to represent the Imam during occultation. The term Dawoodi reflects their historical association with the Dawat (mission) of the Tayyibi Imams. The current Da’i al-Mutlaq is Mufaddal Saifuddin, who has led the community since 2011.
