Darkwatch

Darkwatch is a first-person shooter video game developed by High Voltage Software and published by Capcom in 2005. The game is set in an alternate Wild West era where supernatural creatures and forces are a hidden reality. Players take on the role of Jericho Cross, a notorious outlaw who becomes the newest recruit of Darkwatch, a secret organization dedicated to hunting and destroying these creatures.

The gameplay blends traditional shooting mechanics with supernatural abilities. Jericho can wield a variety of firearms, including pistols, shotguns, and rifles, alongside an array of unique, themed weapons. His vampiric nature, acquired during the game's opening, grants him special powers such as blood-siphoning for health regeneration and a powerful blood-rage mode. The game features a mix of linear shooter segments and more open exploration areas, often involving horseback riding across expansive landscapes.

Darkwatch's narrative revolves around the ongoing war between Darkwatch and various monstrous factions, including vampires, werewolves, and other undead horrors. Jericho's personal journey involves confronting his past and grappling with his new vampiric existence while trying to prevent a catastrophic event orchestrated by a powerful vampire lord. The game was noted for its gothic horror aesthetic, its fusion of Western and supernatural elements, and its introduction of a "Darkwatch Meter" which tracked Jericho's descent into vampirism, influencing certain gameplay aspects. It was released for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.
