Dailyliving

Dailyliving refers to the routines and activities people perform in everyday life to meet their basic and extended needs. It encompasses personal care, mobility, domestic tasks, work or school participation, and social and recreational activities.

In health and social care, the concept is closely related to activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs). Dailyliving emphasizes an individual's ability to live independently and participate in community life, beyond merely medical status.

Typical components include personal care (bathing, dressing, grooming, eating), mobility and transfers, meal preparation, housekeeping and laundry, clothing management, communication and transportation, financial management, time use, and engagement in work, education, and leisure.

Assessment measures such as ADL/IADL scales, the Functional Independence Measure, and occupational therapy evaluations help determine dailyliving independence and guide care planning, home modifications, and assistive devices.

Applications span geriatrics, rehabilitation, pediatrics, disability services, and social care. Interventions may involve environmental modifications, assistive technologies, caregiver training, and individualized plans to promote safety, autonomy, and quality of life.
