Dachträgern

Dachträgern are a type of support structure found in roof construction, particularly in German-speaking countries. The term "Dachträger" literally translates to "roof bearer" in English.

Dachträgern are horizontal or slightly sloping beams that run parallel to each other and support the weight of the roof. They are typically placed above the exterior walls of a building and are often not visible from the outside. The vertical spaces between the Dachträgern, known as truss spacings, can vary depending on the building's design and local building codes.

Dachträgern are commonly used in pitched roof constructions, such as those found in gables or mansard roofs. In these types of roofs, the downward force of the roof's load is transferred to the Dachträgern, which in turn distribute the weight to the foundation of the building.
