DIHK

DIHK, shorthand for Deutscher Industrie- und Handelskammertag e.V., is the umbrella organization of Germany's network of Chambers of Industry and Commerce (IHKs). It coordinates the policy positions and shared services of the IHK system and serves as the national voice of German business in dealings with government, the European Union, and international partners.

The IHKs are public-law corporations representing businesses in their regions. They oversee vocational training and examinations, provide a wide range of services to member enterprises, and contribute to economic policy. All regional IHKs are members of the DIHK, which articulates their common interests in policy discussions with federal ministries and EU institutions.

Key functions of the DIHK include advocacy, economic analysis, and information services for members; support for apprenticeships and the dual education system; statistics and market data; and assistance for startups and exporters. It also coordinates international activities and represents German business in global forums through the IHK network.

The DIHK is a registered association headquartered in Berlin and maintains close relations with the federal government, the EU, and international business organizations to promote a favorable business environment in Germany.
