In Hungary, this is managed by the Court of Registration (cégbíróság). The primary purpose of the cégnyilvántartás is to ensure transparency and legal certainty in business dealings.

Information recorded in the cégnyilvántartás typically includes the company's official name, its registered seat (address), its legal form (e.g., Kft. - Korlátolt Felelősségű Társaság, Zrt. - Zártkörűen működő Részvénytársaság), the names of its managing directors and other key personnel, its registration number, and its share capital. It also documents significant events in a company's life, such as its establishment, amendments to its articles of association, changes in management, mergers, acquisitions, and dissolution.
