Cybermens

Cybermen are a fictional alien species in the British sci-fi television series Doctor Who. They originated from Earth in the future and are a result of human experimentation with cybernetic enhancements. Initially, they were designed to enhance human physical abilities, but their upgrades eventually took on a life of their own, resulting in a completely artificial and emotionless species.

Characterized by their cold, metallic bodies and futuristic armor, Cybermen possess advanced intelligence and ability to regenerate, allowing them to overcome their human limitations. They have a single, dominant goal: to upgrade all human beings and eventually eradicate emotions, which they see as inferior to logical thinking. Cybermen function through a central system called the Brain, which stores knowledge and commands the entire collective.

Meeting the Doctor, a human time-traveler who insists on preserving emotions and individuality, often puts Cybermen at odds with humanity. The conflict between Humans and Cybermen has led to numerous battles throughout the series. Cybermen have been implemented as a force of evil, challenging the heroic Doctor's efforts to protect the universe.

Many Doctor Who serials feature the Cybermen prominently. They regularly posed a threat to Earth's history, technology, and human civilization. Their actions often result in significant human sacrifices to maintain the balance of the universe. The Cybermen's brightness and potentially catastrophic objectives are equated with fear, holding a central place in contemporary Doctor Who mythology.
