Cultivators
A cultivator is a term that can refer to either a person who cultivates land or crops, or to a machine used for soil cultivation. In agriculture, a cultivator is a device designed to stir and pulverize the top layer of soil, either to prepare seedbeds or to weed between rows. Manual cultivators are hand tools with curved tines or blades that are pushed or pulled through soil. Powered cultivators include garden rototillers, which use rotating tines to break up compacted soil, and larger tractor-mounted cultivator implements with multiple tines or discs to cultivate between rows.
