Csajkovszkij is a common Hungarian pronunciation and spelling of the Slavic surname Chaykovsky, which is also known to vary as Ciachov, Czekov, or Czychowski in different European languages.

Piotr Iljitsch Tschaikowski, commonly anglicized to Peter Ilich Tchaikovsky, was a renowned Russian composer of classical music and principal figure in the Romantic era. Born in Votkinsk in 1840 and died in St. Petersburg in 1893, his musical catalog is extensive and prolific, influencing all branches of music in his own time and beyond.
