Croatian Slavonia refers to the historical and geographical region in the eastern part of Croatia. It is primarily situated between the Drava and Sava rivers, bordering Serbia to the east and Hungary to the north. Historically, Slavonia was part of the Kingdom of Hungary for centuries before becoming part of the Habsburg Monarchy. The economy of Slavonia relies heavily on agriculture, forestry, and increasingly, tourism, particularly ecotourism and rural tourism. The Danube River and its tributaries play a vital role in transportation and natural resource management in the area.
