Counterforcing

Counterforcing is a concept that can be applied in various contexts, primarily in strategy and psychology. In essence, it refers to the act of taking action specifically to negate or undermine an opponent's anticipated or actual move. Instead of directly attacking an opponent's primary objective, counterforcing focuses on preemptively blocking their ability to achieve it or making their intended action disadvantageous.
