Cormorata is a fictional genus of seabirds placed in the family Phalacrocoracidae. Presented here for illustrative purposes, it is described as consisting of two extant species that inhabit coastal and offshore waters in temperate regions. The name echoes the real cormorants, but it does not reflect a currently recognized taxon in formal classifications.

They nest in colonies on sheltered sites such as cliff ledges or trees, building stick nests. Clutch size is usually two to four eggs; both parents incubate and feed the chicks.

Conservation and taxonomy: As a hypothetical genus, it has no formal conservation assessment. In general, related cormorant taxa face threats from habitat disturbance, overfishing, and climate-related changes in prey abundance.
