Contribuii

Contribuii is a hypothetical open-source collaboration framework designed to improve attribution and coordination across large, multi-contributor projects. It combines a contribution ledger with governance tooling to help teams measure input across code, documentation, design, translations, and community engagement. The name derives from the Latin root contribuere, with branding that emphasizes collective effort.

The concept arose from ongoing discussions in software, science, and education communities about giving fair credit for non-code work and for upstream contributors in complex projects. Core features include a persistent contributor profile, a granular activity ledger that records commits, reviews, issues, documentation edits, translations, and design assets, and integration with common version-control and project-tracking platforms. Contribuii also provides governance modules, enabling open election of a steering council, transparent voting on feature roadmaps, and rules for credit calculation.
