Cleganes

The Cleganes are a noble house from the Westerlands, sworn to House Lannister. Their sigil is three snarling dogs, a reflection of their fierce and brutal reputation. The current head of the house is Sandor Clegane, though his older brother, Gregor Clegane, a man of immense size and cruelty, was once the more prominent figure.

Gregor Clegane, often called "The Mountain That Rides," is known for his monstrous strength and his participation in numerous atrocities, including the Sack of King's Landing. He serves as a personal guard to Queen Cersei Lannister. Sandor Clegane, "The Hound," is Gregor's younger brother. Unlike Gregor, Sandor possesses a more conflicted nature, marked by a deep-seated fear of fire stemming from a childhood trauma inflicted by his brother. He has served various lords, including King Robert Baratheon and later, surprisingly, allied with the Stark forces.

The Clegane brothers have a history of animosity and violence towards each other, largely due to Gregor's abusive treatment of Sandor in their youth. Their family's history is intertwined with the martial prowess and often brutal enforcement of Lannister will, leaving a legacy of fear and destruction. Their current standing is precarious, with Gregor's actions drawing widespread condemnation and Sandor seeking a path away from his family's violent legacy.
