Circuitscape
Circuitscape is open-source software for modeling ecological connectivity using circuit theory. In ecological studies, landscape resistance to movement is treated analogously to electrical resistance, and wildlife movement is modeled as current flowing through a circuit. The software operates on raster landscape data in which each cell has a resistance or conductance value representing how difficult it is for organisms to traverse. Users specify source and/or target locations (focal nodes) along with configuration parameters. Circuitscape then solves the equivalent electrical network to estimate current flow and potential distribution across the landscape.
Key outputs include current density maps that highlight potential movement pathways and pinch points, as well
Circuitscape is available as a desktop application with a graphical user interface and as a Python package,
