Chatbotid, often written as chatbot_id or bot_id, refers to a unique identifier assigned to a specific chatbot instance within a system, service, or platform. This identifier serves to distinguish one bot from another, enabling message routing, configuration management, and activity tracking. The chatbot_id is typically used by APIs, dashboards, and logs to correlate interactions with the correct bot.

Assignment and formats vary by platform. A chatbot_id is usually generated when a bot is created and remains stable for the lifetime of the bot, though some platforms may allow re-creation or re-assignment. Formats can be numeric, alphanumeric, or UUID-like strings. In many APIs, the chatbot_id appears in the endpoint path or as a parameter, for example in requests such as retrieving or sending messages for a specific bot.

Usage considerations include API requests, configuration files, and analytics dashboards. The chatbot_id identifies which bot should handle a request or be included in a data view. It is distinct from authentication credentials such as a bot token or API key, which authorize actions; the chatbot_id simply names the bot, though some systems may pair it with a secret for access control.

Security and privacy notes suggest limiting exposure of chatbot_ids in logs or URLs where feasible and applying standard access controls. Best practices involve documenting the bot registry, maintaining consistent naming, and aligning IDs with permissions and monitoring systems.
